In 2024, the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship, Book of Mormon Art Catalog, and Laura F. Willes Center for Book of Mormon Studies organized the second annual Book of Mormon Art Contest aimed at promoting the comprehensive Book of Mormon Art Catalog—a digital compilation featuring artwork inspired by the Book of Mormon. The contest garnered submissions from students across 27 majors, each contributing original pieces of art. Judged by a group of religious scholars, historians, artists, and curators, the artwork was submitted into three main categories: Book of Mormon art highlighting unexpected heroic figures, Book of Mormon art showcasing underrepresented figures/scenes, and Book of Mormon Art that demonstrates unique stylistic and technical approaches.
