Artist statement: “It depicts a view the Lamanites might have had as they first saw what they were up against. Approaching Ammonihah first and seeing it so well fortified, the Lamanites, sent by Amalekiah, vowed to attack the next city no matter what. Having anticipated this, Captain Moroni fortified the next city, Noah, even more. When the Lamanites saw that, they were crushed but had to attack because of their vow (Alma 49).”
