Artist statement: "Doing this piece was a revolutionary process for me. First of all, it took me a long time just to get down the hand of the Lord in a way that I felt was satisfactory, because hands are such difficult objects to draw in nature. This gave me ample time to ponder on Jesus Christ, and how he has a body and spirit just like us. This piece also made me reflect on Christ’s transformative power. We are each a regular stone, but through His grace we can become much more, and shine unto others. This piece was done first in pencil and then with chalk pastels."
