Artist statement: "The women pictured in my painting are the daughters that were sent forth to plead with the Lamanites to spare them and their families. Even though they faced almost certain death, they chose to go out and use their voices and pleas to try and save their people. It was rare to see a women in battle, and yet they risked everything so that they might save their people."
