Artist statement: "Morianton's maidservant is a stellar example of courage and resilience in the face of hardship. She overcomes abuse and delivers a critical message to Moroni's armies, turning spy against her people at risk of her own life. Reading these passages, I can picture this woman running through the wilderness with the fate of many soldiers resting on her soldiers, carrying a supremely important message on her solitary trek. This scene is what I chose to depict- a maidservant's journey as she leaves behind what she knows and ventures into an unknown land with a divine purpose to sustain her."
