Artist statement: "When thinking about the people that made up the BOM, the first person I thought of was Nephi's wife. She's not talked about, but I figured she would be one of the most righteous woman of scripture if she was to stay with Nephi and his family for their entire journey. I wanted to make her beautiful, a mother, and strong, so I settled on an "Art Nouveau" style to capture that beauty and strength. I also made her pregnant thinking about the mothers studying at BYU. I wanted to give them a figure to show them that being a mother while going on a journey to get to a promised future is hard, but acknowledged and deeply respected."
