Notes

Artist statement: "This pencil drawing represents Captain Moroni from the Book of Mormon, a powerful military and spiritual leader who raised the Title of Liberty to inspire his people to defend their faith and freedom. The banner he holds reads, "In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children" (Alma 46:12), a message that still resonates today as a call to protect what matters most. This piece is meaningful to me because it reflects the courage to stand for truth and the values that strengthen families and communities. I used graphite pencil on paper to emphasize the historic and solemn nature of the scene. I was inspired by Moroni’s unwavering determination and his role as a symbol of righteous leadership."
