Dance major, BYU. Artist statement: "This piece is inspired by the stories of Abish and the Lamanite Queen. I have always been so inspired by the constant resilience, diligence, courage, and undeterred faith of both Abish and the Queen. I like to think they were close friends, with a special bond. It is clear in the Book of Mormon that the Queen felt so much love and support for her faithful friend and servant, Abish, who loved and served her with so much tender and selfless care. This piece shows the faith of the two sisters as the Queen waited constantly beside her husband, when all thought he was dead. She never gave up hope. I want to inspire others to cultivate these same kinds of sisterly relationships ships and to spread and stand in their faith no matter what, and despite the opinions and trends of the world. This art was done first sketched in pencil, then finished with a mixture of watercolor pencils and Arteza watercolor real brush pens."
