Artist statement: "Here depicted is a painting I did using acrylic paint of my take of the tree of life. The tree of life is depicted so that we are looking up at it. In tiny writing on the bark of the tree are the names of my ancestors and my husband's ancestors 7 generations back each. The tree of life represents the love of God and to me the joy of his plan of happiness. The joy of his plan to me is families. So this depiction is meant to convey that the tree of life exists to bring our families together. In a way it is built up by each person in our family tree and we are all linked to one another as we partake of the tree of life. It was a lot of fun creating this artwork as I got to learn more about my family, but especially my husband's as I haven't spent much time learning about his genealogy."
