Notes

Artist statement: "In "The Jaredite Stone", I sought to capture the sense of mystery and desolation of the forgotten remnants of a once-great civilization—the Jaredites—lost to time, with only the stone left to tell their story. The stone, prominently positioned in the foreground, is engraved with intricate patterns and symbols, evoking their ancient, cryptic writing. Its weathered texture and vertical stance against the vast desert emphasize its enduring presence, a silent witness to the rise and fall of an entire people. In the background, the half-buried bust of Coriantumr, the last king survivor of the Jaredites, emerges from the sand, symbolizing the forgotten legacy of his people. His distant, stoic gaze toward the horizon evokes a sense of regret, loss, and the passage of time. The bust appears eroded and worn, further emphasizing the theme of decay and the ephemeral nature of human achievement. The desert landscape, with its sweeping dunes and warm, reddish hues, symbolizes the emptiness left behind. The sky, painted in deep blues and fiery oranges, adds a surreal, almost apocalyptic atmosphere, reinforcing the idea that this is a moment of divine significance. "
