Notes

Artist statement: "Men are, that they might have joy.” (2 Nephi 2:25). God intends for us to have joy, and I believe that He intended that for Adam and Eve too. My piece combats the widely accepted notion that Adam and Eve sinned by choosing to eat the fruit and leave the garden. The bright colors and abstract design I used for the new world convey hope and show that it was a place of new experiences and growth for the couple as well as a place where they would multiply and replenish the earth. The new world, though no Garden of Eden, was a place of joy."
