Artist statement: "When the name "King Lamoni" is mentioned, Ammon is likely to come to mind as well. Ammon is renowned for his heroic deeds, such as chopping off arms and defending the king’s flocks from the Lamanites. Though Ammon was a mighty servant, he was not alone at the waters of Sebus that day. This drawing depicts one of the other servants who tended the king’s flocks alongside Ammon. While Ammon led the defense, he relied on the support of his fellow servants. A single servant could determine whether a sheep was saved or lost. Heroic acts are not always the most crucial; the sheep needed protection, but more importantly, they needed a servant who wouldn’t abandon them, who noticed when they were missing, and who held them safe during the attack. This drawing serves as a reminder that in God’s kingdom, no role is more important than another. Ultimately, what matters is that His sheep make it home."
