"Lloyd’s Crystal Apple and Fig Leaves references the tree of knowledge. The crystal fruit has many facets, refracting light and enlarging images, giving a beautiful, illusory, tempting, and superficial glow. It is paired with fig leaves, marked with brown spots, a reference to the vulnerability of Adam and Eve after they partook of the fruit, as well as the eventual decay of all living things as a result of the Fall. While a result of disobedience, the outcome set the stage for mortality,'for which I am grateful!' said Lloyd."
