Leonora Taylor
“In 1836 Leonora Cannon Taylor and her husband, John Taylor, were baptized by Elder Parley P. Pratt, becoming the first members of the Church in their family. John Taylor became the third Church President, and Leonora’s dedication to the gospel helped influence generations of faithful women. Her faith was passed on through a half-dozen generations to my daughter. Leonora is pictured in the foreground, followed by her granddaughter Bernice Barton Taylor Dudley as the next closest figure, with her granddaughter Mona Rae Dudley Smith further into the background, all looking to my daughter, Brittany Rae Smith, the little girl pictured farthest away. These righteous women each exemplify the divine role of motherhood and have taught their children and grandchildren to love the Lord and His teachings.” —Danette Smith
