Notes

“On a visit to Utah we stopped at the Manti Utah Temple grounds to appreciate the beautiful architecture of the building. As we walked around the temple grounds, we found an old cemetery across the road from the temple. While we strolled past the gravestones, we discovered important personages in the history of the Church buried there, such as William Fowler, author of the hymn ‘We Thank Thee O God for a Prophet.’ Immediately, a strong feeling of responsibility came to me. On one side we had the cemetery—that made us think of the dead—and at the same time we had the view of the temple in the background, all put together in relation to eternity. I was able to see an entire course of our lives from when we are born, through different stages, until we encounter death.” —José R. Riveros
