"Joseph Smith truly called upon the Lord. After his prayer, the Lord restored the gospel to the earth. God’s wonderful works were again made known to the world. In this sculpture, Joseph is praying. Depicted on the pedestal beneath him are some of the things that came about because of his prayer: the First Vision, the Book of Mormon, the priesthood, and temples. Joseph’s prayer started the Restoration, which has brought the gospel to millions all over the world, including me. Because of the gospel in my life, I often pray unto the Lord and strive to make known His wonderful works."
