"Caroline Wilhelmina Nordstrom (1834-1898) carried this treasured family Bible to Salt Lake City in 1888. Bibles were commonly brought as a reminder of homeland and heritage. For many foreign-born Saints, they served as a primer in learning to read and write English by comparing the Bible in their native tongue to an English edition. This Bible was published in 1759."
