"Depicting a bustling city at night, Adamson’s Salt Lake Temple Overlook captures the linearity of the city’s layout and the centrality of the temple, which stands aglow among the commotion of the traffic, buildings, and city lights. The brushstrokes are loose and fleeting, and many of the buildings have a translucent feel to them, but the temple and the tabernacle ground the composition, giving it structure. Explaining the subject, Adamson said, 'In the temple we meditate upon the works of the Lord and the wonders of old.'"
