Notes

"This painting depicts the Hong Kong China Temple reflected in a diamond. A diamond becomes valuable after a long refining process. Our value as children of God is beyond measure, but we also need to go through a refining process. Therefore, God has provided the sacred temple for us. The temple is a place where we learn the teachings of Jesus Christ and make covenants with Him. Our impurities can be removed little by little each time we apply the truths we learn inside the temple. Each of us is able to become more like the Savior through this refining process. Temples have had a special place in my heart ever since I first learned about them in Primary. I wanted to have a temple in Hong Kong, but I never imagined that the chapel I attended while growing up would become the location of the Hong Kong Temple! It is truly the greatest gift from God." -Mei Mei Chan
