"The artist's mission is to teach through narrative art the stories of the Bible, the Book of Mormon, Church history, and people's lives. This piece relates the true story of the temple in Nauvoo, Illinois, and the great sacrifices the pioneers made to preserve the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Before he started this work, the artist studied, investigated, and prayed a lot about the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants. The story of Nauvoo moved his heart to enable him to produce this piece, a retablo in his native tradition."
