Notes

"As the photographer sat on a dusty hill west of Simpson Springs, Wyoming, he was taken by the view through his camera lens of the wagon train commemorating the pioneer sesquicentennial. Transported back 150 years to his Danish and English ancestors who were immigrants, he was suddenly jolted back into the present as a small jet carrying President Gordon B. Hinckley circled twice, dipping a wing in salute to what appeared to be Brother Brigham's wagon train on an actual part of the pioneer trail. By the second pass he was able to juxtapose the two contrasting eras in one frame of film. It became an unforgettable emotional and spiritual moment in his personal and family history."
