Notes

Description on website: "Painting of St. George Utah by Roland Lee". Accompanied by the following: "Where Two Streams Meet was painted for the cover of the book by the same name written by Lyman Hafen. It features an image of early St. George, UT looking north from the confluence of the Santa Clara River and the Virgin River. The town was founded by Mormon pioneers in 1861 and celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2011. Much has changed since then but the the red cliffs and Pine Valley Mountain still overlook the two rivers as they twist, wind, and carve their way through the desert. Hafens thoughtful and entertaining book is a compilation of essays reflecting on his boyhood days in the town settled by his own pioneer ancestors."
