Notes

"Wilford Woodruff used this fly-fishing rod that he had brought from England to fish for trout as the company paused to rest at Fort Bridger. Although many others tried their luck using grasshoppers and meat as bait, Wilford Woodruff, with his artificial fly, caught 12 fish, which was more than the rest of the camp combined. This was the first time that Wilford had fished during the trek. From that point on, he seized every opportunity to cast his line. He remained an avid fisherman throughout the rest of his life."
