In “Come, Follow Me” this week, we learn the conversion story of Nicodemus, who heard the Savior’s teachings and joined the believers. The Savior taught that we must follow His example and be born again, because we have been spiritually begotten of Him. This connects back strongly to the ideas of repentance and baptism that we studied last month. Similarly, in Mosiah, King Benjamin tells the people, “Because of the covenant which ye have made ye shall be called the children of Christ, his sons, and his daughters; for behold, this day he hath spiritually begotten you; for ye say that your hearts are changed through faith on his name; therefore, ye are born of him and have become his sons and his daughters” (Mosiah 5:7).
Because God loves us, He gives us opportunities to repent and be better every day. What can you do this week to be ‘born again’ and turn closer to Christ? -Aliza Keller
