General Conference April 2023

Gary L. Kapp, “King Benjamin Addresses His People”

“The people gathered themselves together throughout all the land, that they might go up to the temple to hear the words which king Benjamin should speak unto them” (Mosiah 2:1).

Gathering with family and friends to listen to the prophet is a long-standing tradition. In this painting by Gary L. Kapp, families in ancient America sit by their tents throughout the valley, facing the temple to hear the message of the prophet. King Benjamin taught the Nephites about the blessings of God, the atonement of the Savior, obedience and repentance, and the love we should have to our fellow men.

We hope you feel uplifted this General Conference weekend! As King Benjamin urged his assembly, “open your ears that ye may hear, and your hearts that ye may understand, and your minds that the mysteries of God may be unfolded to your view” (Mosiah 2:9).
